Past Players / Team Of The Century Gala Function

The club is holding a "Gala Function" on Friday 26th Sept. 2008. The Night is to launch the Ringwood Cricket Clubs "Hall of Fame", announce the "Team of the Century", induct members into the Hall of Fame, as well as recognising all players who have played VCA 1st X1 with the club.

It is intended that all members of the 2007/8 First XI Premiership team will also be in attendance, to give everyone the chance to recognise, and rub shoulders with this elite group within our club.

Paul Jones is Chairman of the Sub Committee organising the function and is desperately trying to update the clubs address records for all Past Players of the Rams from any era and XI. To assist Paul in ensuring that as many Past Players are in attendance as possible and to get club records up to date, could you confirm your mailing address & phone number by return Email to either of the addresses below:

If you are still in touch with any other past members of the club, could you please ensure they are aware of this Function and have updated their records with the club also. As all previous District/Premier First XI Players are to be recognised, we would particularly like to get as many of them there as possible.

The Ringwood Cricket Club is holding a ‘Gala Presentation Function’ to honour all 1^st X1 players who have represented the club since its introduction into District/Premier cricket in 1974. These players will be presented with a memento of their cap number with all current players receiving a cap with their number on it.

As well as the above the club intends announcing its ‘Team of the Century’ and inducting the inaugural members of the Ringwood Cricket Club ‘Hall of Fame’.

All previous Club Champions will also be recognised with the striking of the ‘Don Mathieson’ medal for presentation retrospectively to all winners.

This year takes on special significance: as you are probably now aware the club won the 1^st X1 Premiership defeating Geelong in the Grand Final. This completes the circle giving the club premierships in every grade as well as a 1^st XI One Day championship since entering the competition.

The evening will start with the introduction of the Premiership Team.

The function will take the form of a formal, three course dinner and will be held at the Karralyka Centre, Mines Rd. Ringwood. Tickets are $60 per head and below is a return slip for you to use to book. Please note that payment is required with the booking form. Drinks will be at bar prices on the night.

The dinner will be served from 7:30pm so we are looking for guests to arrive at 7pm for the 7:30pm start.
All involved are excited about the function and the drawing together of many players and supporters, both past and current. The night will provide an opportunity for all those who have been involved over the journey to re-acquaint and share their memories.

To make for easier planning we are asking that all replies be returned by Friday 12^th September. Tickets will be forwarded upon receipt of payment.
I would remind all, particularly those who may require overnight accommodation, that it’s AFL Grand Final eve and you may need to book early.
